Teverbaugh Residence

Project Overview

The Teverbaughs are a young, dynamic family who wanted a modern outdoor space for relaxation and socializing. The backyard pool area was designed to complement the aesthetic of their home through clean lines, open spaces, and a contemporary material palette.

The site presented unique challenges because the residence is located near London Avenue Canal and Lake Pontchartrain. Fortunately, the property falls outside the limits of these two major water bodies. Three design concepts were prepared for the client before the final direction was selected.

The selected concept centers on an L-shaped pool with an integrated spa and waterfall feature. The layout creates distinct areas for swimming, lounging, and gathering while maintaining clear circulation throughout the backyard.

A saltwater pool system was selected along with a planting palette of native and well-adapted species suited to the New Orleans climate. The completed landscape provides a functional, low-maintenance retreat that feels modern, welcoming, and connected to the residence.
